- Active Ingredient: 4% Chlorhexidine Gluconate, which binds to the bacterial cell wall to disrupt its osmotic equilibrium.
- Primary Uses: Surgical hand scrubbing, pre-operative skin preparation, and disinfection of skin before injections or, in some cases, treatments.
- Usage Instructions:
- Hands: Apply 5ml to wet hands, wash for one minute, and rinse thoroughly.
- Surgery Prep: For surgical scrubbing, repeat the process for 2 minutes, sometimes using a nail brush.
- Benefits: It provides broad-spectrum antimicrobial action and often contains emollients to be gentle on skin during frequent use.
- Contraindications: Do not use if hypersensitive to chlorhexidine, or if you have dermatitis or allergic reactions. It may cause eye irritation.
